The following is a CBSA Message (EDI13-047).
The following is information concerning this year's civic holiday in Québec on Monday, June 24, 2013. For all clients, overnight reports will run the evenings of Friday, June 21, 2013 and Monday, June 24, 2013.
Daily notices/statements covering entry data of Friday, June 21, 2013 will be generated with a statement date of Tuesday, June 25, 2013 in the province of Quebec. In all other provinces, these K84s will be statement dated Monday, June 24, 2013. These entries are payable on the June monthly K84 statement.
In the province of Quebec, clients may receive two (2) different daily notices (for June 21, 2013 and June 24, 2013) with the same statement date of June 25, 2013, which are being combined and are included on the June monthly K84 statement. However, only entry data of June 21, 2013 is payable at the end of June. Consequently, entry data of June 24, 2013 should be manually removed from the June monthly K84 statement and manually added to the July monthly K84 statement.
For the purposes of calculating the accounting period, June 24, 2013 will be considered a holiday for this province and any late accounting penalties will be waived without the client having to submit an application. This applies to transactions that were released in the affected province between June 15, 2013 and June 24, 2013, and the client’s office of central accounting is in the province of Québec. Any other clients that may have received late accounting penalties due to the holiday may apply for a waiver to the Recourse Directorate at fax # 613-960-5112.
