CBSA Message (TCC18-166) - 2018 Classification and Tariff Code Files

Clients Affected: All importers and brokers who use EDI to transmit their trade data.

Further to Customs Notice 18-22 Implementation of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) dated December 5, 2018 and Customs Notice 18-23 Amendment to the Departmental Consolidation of the Customs Tariff dated December 7, 2018, please be advised the classification and tariff code file updates and expiries in CADEX format are now available on the CBSA website.

Given that this will be a large update, the classification and tariff code flags have been turned off until January 3, 2019.

Action Required: Importers and brokers seeking to update their systems with the new Customs Tariff classification information should download the files from the CBSA website.
