CBSA Message (TCC19-025) - UPDATE - Natural Resources Canada (NRCAN) - HS codes as of April 30, 2019

Clients Affected: All clients and service providers who transmit trade data using EDI. 

Please note that the attached list of HS codes has been modified (HS code 8504401000 was removed).

Please note that the list of HS codes for regulated energy-using products has been revised to reflect the Amendment 14 to the Energy Efficiency Regulations coming into force on April 30, 2019; the attached updated list contains effective dates and expiry dates for each affected HS code.  

According to the Amendment 14 to the Energy Efficiency Regulations, as of April 30, 2019, import requirements will apply to the following regulated energy-using products:
•    battery chargers;
•    commercial pre-rinse spray valves;
•    metal halide lamp ballasts;
•    microwave-ovens;
•    small electric motors;
•    walk-in coolers and walk-in freezers;
•    whole-home dehumidifiers.
