CBSA Message (TCC19-028) – Decommissioning of OGD Service Options PARS & RMD

Clients Affected: All importers and brokers using the IID

The CBSA recognizes the transformative change that SWI adoption represents to the trade community. Significant effort was made to meet the January 1, 2019 deadline for onboarding.

The CBSA will now begin the phased-in transition to decommissioning the OGD legacy service options OGD PARS and OGD RMD beginning April 1, 2019.

The expectation is that TCPs who are certified and capable of transitioning their clients to the SW IID utilize the SO911 to the greatest extent possible. The CBSA will actively monitor client accounts to identify those clients not utilizing the SWI IID. Clients who are certified to use the SW IID but still opting to use the legacy SO463 and SO471 to clear shipments, may see delays in their release. During the transition, any outstanding system issues will be corrected and then available for testing commencing in early May. The transition period will proceed for several months, after which the legacy release service options will no longer be available.
