CBSA Message: TCC21-017 - UPDATE SWI IID – Human Drugs Program - Clinical Trials No Objection Letter

Clients Affected: All importers and brokers

This notice is to advise trade chain partners (TCPs) (i.e. importers and brokers) that are using the Single Window Initiative (SWI), Integrated Import Declaration (IID) to obtain release for human drugs that will be used in clinical trials that Health Canada is validating the entry against the last 6 digits of the Dossier # rather than the 6 digit control number. This number is included in the Clinical Trial No Objection Letter (document type 5013) in the top right corner of the letter.

UPDATE:  As of March 5,  2021, this issue has been resolved. As such, TCPs can now enter the control number found on the NOL (document type 5013) to obtain release.
