CETA for Textiles and Apparel Webinar

The Canadian Apparel Federation and guest speaker Marc Ticehurst of Milgram & Company Ltd. are offering a 90-minute webinar on Canada’s most important free trade agreement since NAFTA.

On September 21, 2017 the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) came into effect.  This allowed Canada and the EU to enact provisional application of this new trade agreement for goods imported into their respective territories.

Since the deal was implemented, many companies have begun trading under the terms of the agreement. CETA offers Canadian textile and apparel manufacturers/exporters a European market with a GDP of $16 trillion and 500 million consumers, while allowing fashion importers to source goods on a duty-free basis from some 28 European countries.

The day CETA came into force, textiles, apparel, fashion accessories, footwear, handbags and other consumer goods became duty-free (for CETA originating goods).

Importers and exporters alike will gain valuable insights on the opportunities and challenges presented by CETA; and how to take advantage of the agreement.
