CFIA-AIRS Updates, 18 March

A) Chapter 01 was published to:

i) modify the import conditions for the following HS codes with the end uses “Breeding”, “Canadian animals returning to Canada”, “Commercial”, “Display in a zoo”, “Feeding for slaughter”, “Immediate slaughter”, “Other end uses”, “Racing”, “Scientific use (Research)”, “Show or exhibition”, “Temporary stay in Canada” and “Travellers & Personal use and not for resale or distribution” originating from Belgium. NO VERSION CHANGE.

01.06.39.2098 - Pigeons and doves over 3 days old
01.06.39.2099 - Pigeons and doves less than 3 days old

ii) change the release recommendation from “Refer to CFIA-Veterinary Inspection” to “Refuse Entry” for the following HS codes with the end uses “Other end use”, “Breeding”, Temporary stay in Canada”, “Feeding for slaughter” and  “Immediate slaughter” originating from Belgium, Cuba, Denmark, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, New Zealand, Saint Pierre and Miquelon and Switzerland.

01.05.11.1011 - Over 3 days old
01.05.15.1020 - Over 3 days old
01.05.94 - Fowls of the species Gallus domesticus
01.06.39.2090 -  Game birds other than guinea fowl over 3 days old

This created a requirement version change for the same HS codes originating from Austria and France.

B) Chapter 23 was published to remove a registration type and modify the import conditions for the following HS codes with the end use “Other end uses” originating from the European Union Member States. NO VERSION CHANGE.

23.09.90.1570.08 -  Egg products.
23.09.90.1570.09 - Containing milk and milk derivative ingredients.
23.09.90.1570.10 - Crustacean ingredients.
23.09.90.6209.01 - Containing ingredients of bovine origin.
23.09.90.6209.02 - Containing ingredients of animal origin other than bovine ingredients.
