CFIA-AIRS Updates August 10th, 2022

CFIA APOLOGIZE FOR THE DELAY IN SENDING THIS MESSAGE AS THEY WERE EXPERIENCING TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES.

A) Chapter 08 was published to change the release recommendation from “Refuse entry” to “Refer to CFIA-NISC” for the following HS codes originating from Guatemala and Spain.

08.10.40.4017.01 - Blueberries (fresh). (Vaccinium angustifolium, V. corymbosum, V. myrtilloides)
08.10.40.4017.02 - Blueberries (fresh) - Organic - (Vaccinium angustifolium, V. corymbosum, V. myrtilloides)

B) Chapter 10 was published to:

i) remove the end uses "Cleaning (for)" and "Screening" from the following HS codes originating from all countries except the continental United States.

10.04.10.0097 - Cereal - Oat - seed
10.04.10.0098 - Cereal - Oat - seed - Organic
10.04.90.0088 - Cereal - Oat - grain - Organic
10.04.90.0098 - Cereal - Oat - grain
10.04.90.0100 - Hulless oats
10.04.90.0101 - Hulless oats - Organic

ii) change the release recommendation from “Refuse Entry” to "Refer to CFIA-NISC" for the following HS codes with the end uses “Cleaning (for)” and “Screenings” originating from Hawaii. 

10.04.10.0097 - Cereal - Oat - seed
10.04.10.0098 - Cereal - Oat - seed - Organic
10.04.90.0088 - Cereal - Oat - grain - Organic
10.04.90.0098 - Cereal - Oat - grain
10.04.90.0100 - Hulless oats
10.04.90.0101 - Hulless oats – Organic
