CFIA-AIRS Updates December 19th, 2017

A) Chapter 03 was published to: 

i) remove the end uses; « Aquarium – commercial», « Aquarium – private», « Ceremonial or religious use», « Culture», « Diagnostic testing», « Display in a zoo or public aquarium», « Feeding aquatic animals to aquatic animals», « Impoundment», « Manufacturing feed for aquatic animals», « Outdoor holding unit – commercial», « Outdoor holding unit – private», «Research and educational use», « Show or exhibition», « Stocking, enhancement or refresh» and « Travellers & Personal use and not for resale or distribution» from the following HS codes.

03.06.19.2812.72 - Euphausia superba - TSN 95514 - Antarctic krill (non-ready-to-eat, head on and shell on) (frozen).
03.06.39.2812.72 - Euphausia superba - TSN 95514 - Antarctic krill (non-ready-to-eat, live or head on and shell on) (live, fresh or chilled).
03.06.99.2812.72 - Euphausia superba - TSN 95514 - Antarctic krill (non-ready-to-eat, head on and shell on) (other).

ii) modify the import conditions for the following HS code originating from Chile.

03.07.11.1888.75 - Crassostrea gigas - TSN 79868 - Pacific cupped oyster (live or non-ready-to-eat, shell on) (fresh or chilled).

This created a requirement version change for the following HS codes.

03.07.12.1888.75 - Crassostrea gigas - TSN 79868 - Pacific cupped oyster (non-ready-to-eat, shell on) (Frozen). 
03.07.19.1888.75 - Crassostrea gigas - TSN 79868 - Pacific cupped oyster (non-ready-to-eat, shell on) (other).

B) Chapter 6 was published to add a new miscellaneous code “Mushroom spawn with growing media (wheat middlings and wood shavings)” to the following HS codes originating from the Continental United-States.

06.02.90.0029.02 - Mushroom spawn - morel Armilaria.
06.02.90.0029.03 - Mushroom spawn – morel.
06.02.90.0029.99 - Mushroom spawn - other.

This created a requirement version change for the same HS codes with miscellaneous codes “Mushroom spawn with growing media (coffee grounds)”, “Mushroom spawn with growing media (red alder chips, without bark)”, “Mushroom spawn with growing media (sawdust, wood shavings)” and “Mushroom spawn with growing media (steam-sterilized millet and/or sorghum)”

C) Add the following miscellaneous codes.

#970 - Mushroom spawn with growing media (wheat middlings and wood shavings)
