CFIA-AIRS Updates February 3rd 2020

A) Chapter 01 was published to :

i) streamline the requirements for the following HS codes originating from the States of Arkansas, California, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington and Wisconsin.

01.05.11.1011 - Weighing not more than 185 g: Fowls of the species Gallus domesticus. - Over 3 days old. 
01.05.12.1011 - Weighing not more than 185 g: Turkeys. - 3 days old. 
01.05.15.1020 - Guinea fowls. - Over 3 days old. 
01.05.94 - Fowls of the species Gallus domesticus. 
01.05.99.1015 - Turkeys. 
01.06.39.2090 - Game birds other than guinea fowl over 3 days old.

This created a requirement version change for the same HS codes originating from the States of Alaska, Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Vermont, West Virginia and Wyoming.

ii) modify the import conditions for the following HS codes with the end use “Travellers & Personal use and not for resale or distribution” originating from the United States.

01.06.32 - Psittaciformes (including parrots, parakeets, macaws and cockatoos). 
01.06.39.2096 - Songbirds over 3 days old (Passerines of the sub-order passerii (oscines)). 
01.06.39.2097 - Songbirds less than 3 days old (Passerines of the sub-order passerii (oscines)). 
01.06.39.2106.06 - Other birds over 3 days old. - Toucans. 
01.06.39.2107.06 - Other birds less than 3 days old. - Toucans.

This created a requirement change for the same HS codes with the end use “In transit through Canada”.

B) Chapter 06 was published to modify the import conditions for the following HS codes. NO VERSION CHANGE.

06.02.10.0012.05 - Geraniums - Unrooted plants (Pelargonium spp.).
06.02.10.0012.06 - Solanum spp. (other than S. tuberosum (potato) and  S. melongena (eggplant)) - Rooted plants.
06.02.90.0024.02 - Eggplant - vegetable transplants (Solanum melongena).Other live plants (including their roots), cuttings and slips; mushroom spawn.. 
06.02.90.0024.08 - Geraniums - greenhouse plants (Pelargonium spp.).
06.02.90.0024.09 - Solanum spp. (other than S. tuberosum (potato) and  S. melongena (eggplant) - Unrooted plants.
