CFIA-AIRS Updates May 17th, 2021

Chapter 03 was published to:

i) change the release recommendation from “Approved” to “Refer to CFIA - veterinary inspection” for the following HS codes with the end use “Research and educational use” and the miscellaneous code and “Consignment destined to a CFIA approved quarantine unit”.

03.02.13.6159 -  Taxonomic names starting with On.
03.02.13.6160 -  Taxonomic names starting with On (cont.).

ii) modify the registration type list for the following HS codes with the end use “Research and educational use” and the miscellaneous code “Consignment destined to an approved facility by the Office of Biohazard Containment and Safety”.

03.02.13.6159 -  Taxonomic names starting with On.
03.02.13.6160 -  Taxonomic names starting with On (cont.).

iii) change the release recommendation from “Approved” to “Refer to CFIA - veterinary inspection” for the following HS code with the end use “Research and educational use” and the miscellaneous code and “Consignment destined to a CFIA approved quarantine unit”.

03.02.14.7871.46 - Salmo salar - TSN 161996 - Atlantic salmon (fresh or chilled).

iv) modify the registration type list for the following HS code with the end use “Research and educational use” and the miscellaneous code “Consignment destined to an approved facility by the Office of Biohazard Containment and Safety”.

03.02.14.7871.46 - Salmo salar - TSN 161996 - Atlantic salmon (fresh or chilled).
