CFIA-AIRS Updates November 6th 2019

A) Chapter 06 was published to:

i) change the release recommendation from “Approved” to “Refer to CFIA-NISC” for the following HS code with the end use “Other end uses” originating from the state of California.

06.04.20.0045.73 - Foliage, branches - Fresh - Cercis spp.

ii) change the release recommendation from “Approved” to “Refer to CFIA-NISC” for the following HS code with the end use “Other end uses” and the miscellaneous codes “Entering Canada through British Columbia” and “Not entering Canada through British Columbia” originating from the state of California destined to all provinces except British Columbia

06.04.20.0046.06 - Foliage, branches - Fresh - Photinia spp.

iii) modify the import conditions for the following HS code with the end use “Other end uses” originating from the state of California destined to British Colombia. 

06.04.20.0046.06 - Foliage, branches - Fresh - Photinia spp.

iv) modify the description for the following OGD extensions.

B) Chapter 07 was published to:

i) change the release recommendation from “Refer to CFIA-NISC” to “Approved” for the following HS codes with the end uses “Human Consumption” and “Further Processing” and the miscellaneous code “With soil or related matter (including growing media not approved under the CGMP)” originating from the state of California.

07.06.90.3027.01 - Edible flower bulbs (fresh or chilled).
07.06.90.3027.10 - Edible flower bulbs - (fresh or chilled) - Organic.

ii) change the release recommendation from “Refer to CFIA-NISC” to “Approved” for the following HS code with the end uses “Samples for testing”, “Travellers & Personal use and not for resale or distribution” and the miscellaneous codes “Without soil”, “Up to 15 packages with combined weight of up to 250 kg” originating from the state of California.

07.06.90.3027.01 - Edible flower bulbs (fresh or chilled).

iii) remove the miscellaneous codes  “Without soil/ <50kg, entering Canada through B.C. or end destination of B.C”, “Without soil/ >50kg, entering Canada through BC or end destination of BC”, “Without soil / container weighing less than 50 kg”, “Without soil / container weighing more than 50 kg”, “and “With soil / container weighing less than 50 kg” from the following HS codes with the end uses “Human Consumption” and “Further processing” originating from the state of California.

07.06.90.3027.01 - Edible flower bulbs (fresh or chilled).
07.06.90.3027.10 - Edible flower bulbs - (fresh or chilled) - Organic.

iv) remove the miscellaneous codes “Entering Canada through B.C. or has an end destination of B.C.”, “Not entering Canada through British Columbia”, “Without soil, entering Canada through BC” and “Without soil, not entering Canada through BC” from the following HS code with the end uses “Samples for testing” and “Travellers & Personal use and not for resale or distribution” originating from the state of California.

07.06.90.3027.01 - Edible flower bulbs (fresh or chilled).
