New and important legislation—the Safe Food for Canadians Act—has been passed. Now, the CFIA must review all existing regulations in order to bring the Act into force.
CFIA is making progress on a number of key initiatives that will enable the Act to come into force, including inspection, regulatory and labelling modernization as well as proposed imported food sector product regulations.
All of these initiatives are interrelated and complementary. To be successful, they require your engagement and feedback.
The CFIA is hosting a webinar on Tuesday, October 1 (in English) to present how new legislative, regulatory and inspection approaches will deliver better food safety outcomes for Canadians. This webinar will focus on information for small and medium sized enterprises.
We wish to highlight that the material presented during the webinar will be the same as what was presented at the June 4 Food Forum and the August webinars. This material will be the basis of all engagement this summer and fall.
You must register to take part. Registration deadline is September 27.
