New and important legislation—the Safe Food for Canadians Act—has been passed. Now, the CFIA must review all existing regulations in order to bring the Act into force.
CFIA is making progress on a number of key initiatives that will enable the Act to come into force, including inspection, regulatory and labelling modernization as well as proposed imported food sector product regulations.
All of these initiatives are interrelated and complementary. To be successful, they require your engagement and feedback.
Throughout the past 6 months, the CFIA has been consulting and engaging stakeholders on how new legislative, regulatory and inspection approaches will deliver better food safety outcomes for Canadians. The current phase of consultations ends on November 30, 2013. To provide you the opportunity to be informed and provide feedback on our food safety regulatory modernization initiatives, the Agency will be hosting the final set of webinars, on Tuesday, November 26th (English) and Wednesday, November 27th (French).
We want to highlight that the material presented during the webinars will be the same as what was presented at the June 4 Food Forum, as well as the past webinars hosted.
You must register to take part. Registration deadline is November 25th (English Session) and November 26th (French session).
