CFIA Permits and Mail Service

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers has issued a strike notice and would be in a legal position to strike as early as Monday October 22, 2018. Please check with Canada Post for the latest developments.

The CFIA strongly encourages industry to apply, pay for, and track the status of their permission online using My CFIA to avoid delays. Using My CFIA, you can securely access your permit, license or registration from your computer. Most services are available through My CFIA, with others being added gradually. Visit inspection.gc.ca/mycfia for a step-by-step guide on creating your account.

The CFIA has contingency measures ready in case of a rotating mail strike or if a full disruption in mail services were to occur. In this event, updated procedures will be shared at: http://inspection.gc.ca/mypermission.
