Changes to AIRS for cheese products

Effective April 3, 2018, the Automated Import Reference System (AIRS) database will be updated to distinguish between cheese manufactured from pasteurized and unpasteurized milk.

The description of the following OGD extensions will be changed to identify pasteurized milk products: 

04.06.10.3566 - Fresh (unripened or uncured) cheese, including whey cheese, and curd. - Pasteurized
04.06.20.3575 - Variety cheeses. - Pasteurized
04.06.40.3572 - Blue cheese. - Pasteurized
04.06.90.3575 - Variety cheeses. - Pasteurized

The following OGD extensions will be added to identify unpasteurized milk products

04.06.10.3567 - Fresh (unripened or uncured) cheese, including whey cheese, and curd. - Unpasteurized
04.06.10.3567.01 - Mozzarella (Scarmoza)
04.06.10.3567.02 - Partly skimmed mozzarella (partly skimmed Scarmoza)
04.06.10.3567.03 - Pizza cheese
04.06.10.3567.04 - Partly skimmed pizza cheese
04.06.10.3567.07 - Whey cheese
04.06.10.3567.08 - Cheese curds
04.06.10.3567.09 - Ricotta cheese
04.06.10.3567.10 - Cream cheese spread
04.06.10.3567.11 - Cream cheese spread with added ingredients
04.06.10.3567.12 - Cheese packed in whey
