Further to our message from January 29th the following has been provided by the CBSA.
This is to inform you that after lengthy negotiations, the CBSA in partnership with Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC), has awarded a new three year contract for off-load services at 15 land ports of entry. You will note that the rates ultimately secured are significantly lower, and we expect this to be welcome news. The new service provider Employment Professionals Canada (EPC) replaces Interport (Stream) and will be in place on Sunday February 1, 2015.
Recognizing that our website was only updated yesterday, January 29th, and that many industry representatives have not had the opportunity to set up standing accounts with the new service provider, EPC is offering multiple payment options including Debit, Visa, MasterCard, TChecks, ComChecks and account invoicing (after the fact). EPC have also established an expedited process for setting up standing accounts for carriers and can be contacted as per the information below:
