Changes to the Certificate for export of Oysters to Japan

At the request of Japan, CFIA has revised the export Certificate of Origin and Hygiene for Live and Raw Oysters for human consumption (CFIA/ACIA 5003 – Japan variant). In addition to regulatory wording being changed to meet Japan requirements, the following new, additional information must be included on the certificate:

  • Processing facility (name, address, registration number)

This revised version of the certificate will be issued by CFIA on and after June 1, 2020. For shipments that were certified on and before May 31, 2020 and will arrive June 1 and after, CFIA will issue replacement certificates using the revised template upon request. The current version of the certificate will no longer be issued by CFIA on June 1, 2020.

CFIA will continue to issue the current certificate for shipments up to and including May 31, 2020.
