CN Service - Soo Subdivision

The following is a message from CN.

As a result of heavy rains and flash flooding, multiple track washouts were reported along the Soo subdivision of the CN main line on Tuesday, September 10th. The resulting adverse conditions, located near Sault Ste Marie, ON, are currently affecting cross-border traffic running across the Sault Ste Marie gateway that links Ontario with northern Michigan and northern Wisconsin.

CN crews have responded and are working to repair the affected sections of track, and a portion of the necessary work has been completed. According to current estimates, all repairs will be completed as of Monday, September 23rd, at 2359hrs EDT. Repairs will take longer than originally expected due to the extent of one of the washouts. In the interim, all affected traffic is being detoured in order to minimize any resulting delays.

We will post further updates on this webpage as more details become available.
