CSCB Webinar: Modern Risk Management Strategies for Customs Brokers, Importers and Other Service Providers

With rapidly shifting trade patterns and continuing globalization of supply chains, importers, customs brokers and other service providers are facing increasingly demanding responsibilities to ensure that their practices meet multiple and sometimes conflicting objectives and expectations.

This webinar, presented by Jesse Goldman, a Partner at Bennett Jones LLP, will take a risk management based approach to reviewing recent and upcoming changes in self-adjustments, voluntary disclosures, appeals, audits, preferential tariffs, GST/HST compliance, OGD requirements, and client/customs broker communications. Particular focus will be given to important legal concepts such as "reason to believe" and procedural issues and strategies in dealing with day-to-day customs compliance and the CBSA.
