Customs Self-Assessment Program Extended to U.S. Importers

The June 19th edition of the Canada Gazette includes Regulations Amending the Accounting for Imported Goods and Payment of Duties Regulations. This notice was included in a message from the CSCB on June 20th and can be viewed here:

These regulations were amended so that the CSA (Customs Self-Assessment) program could be extended to American resident importers in order to meet a commitment made under the Beyond the Border Declaration. In turn, Canadian resident importers will be allowed to participate in the U.S.’s Importer Self-Assessment Program.
