D19-13-2, Importing and Exporting Firearms, Weapons and Devices

This memorandum replaces Memorandum D19-13-2 dated May 29, 2019. The following changes were made:

(a) Information on the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty has been added
(b) Information on the storage of detained firearms at a CBSA port of entry has been changed to reflect the Storage of Goods Regulations
(c) Information on the May 1, 2020, announcement of the Regulations Prescribing Certain Firearms and Other Weapons, Components and Parts of Weapons, Accessories, Cartridge Magazines, Ammunition and Projectiles as Prohibited or Restricted to amend the Regulations that classify firearms (Classification Regulations) to prescribe certain firearms as prohibited firearms and certain devices as prohibited has been added
(d) Information on solvent traps and fuel filters as potentially prohibited devices has been added
(e) The definition of “bore diameter” has been added
