EDC Export Performance Monitor - November 2014

Canada recorded a merchandise trade surplus of $710 million on rising exports of automotive products and other consumer goods, with the third quarter posting the second-highest quarterly trade surplus in 6 years
 
Rising exports to developed markets compensated for weaker demand from emerging markets, contributing to a robust 10.4% year-to-date growth in Canada's merchandise exports

Rising exports of consumer goods, automotive products and machinery and equipment propelled Ontario's trade during September, while the challenging global market environment for energy products weighed on Newfoundland and Labrador's trade performance.
