Goods Aboard the Yantian Express

Members may be aware of the Yantian Express, a container ship that was headed for Halifax but redirected toward the Bahamas after catching fire.

It appears that goods on this ship may have already been released and accounted for. CBSA has advised that corrections may be filed after accounting and prior to the SOA being issued. Instructions for this process are provided in paragraphs 85 and 86 of D17-1-5.

If the goods are found to be salvageable and will eventually be sent to Canada, the Entered to Arrive process may also be used.

We understand that CBSA is working with the steamship line to cancel its data.
