IID Transactions for October 2018

Readers are reminded that two of the EDI service options currently used to declare regulated goods, OGD PARS (option 463) and OGD RMD (option 471), will be decommissioned for CFIA, Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) and Transport Canada (TC) clients on April 1, 2019. After April 1, 2019, the only service option available for goods regulated by these three PGAs will be the IID.

Goods regulated by the remaining PGAs may be released using the IID or EDI PARS (option 125) or EDI RMD (option 257) with mandatory use of the IID being implemented on a gradual basis according to PGA.

In addition, if goods are co-regulated by CFIA, NRCan or TC, for example HC and CFIA, an IID must be used to obtain release after April 1, 2019.

CBSA has provided the following statistics for IID use in October.
