Canada's small business confidence over the short and long-term significantly dropped all throughout the month of January. While early-month results show a 10-point drop of optimism over both the long- and short-term horizons, end-of-month results are slightly less dramatic – almost 8-point drop for each index. Overall, confidence is even below the summer of 2020.

Résultats du sondage du mois de janvier 2022 sur les perspectives des PME - Fédération canadienne de l'entreprise indépendante

Le niveau de confiance des chefs de PME du Canada à court et long terme a chuté considérablement tout au long du mois de janvier. Bien que début janvier, l'optimisme à court et long terme ait perdu plus de 10 points, fin janvier, il en a perdu 8 environ pour ces deux termes. Les chefs de PME sont globalement encore plus pessimistes que pendant l’été 2020.  

L’indice du Baromètre des affairesᴹᴰ de la FCEI à court terme, qui est basé sur les attentes des propriétaires de PME sur 3 mois en termes de performance, a perdu 8 points (36,9). Les perspectives sur un horizon plus long – douze mois – ont également reculé de 8 points (54,3)...
