Memorandum D4-1-7 - Extension of Time Limits for the Storage of Goods

In brief

This memorandum is updated to:

  1. include reference to the Commercial Accounting Document (CAD);
  2. confirm that the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) will issue the Form E44, Notice: Unclaimed Goods only after the extension period has expired;
  3. include vaping products as a prescribed good in accordance with the Excise Act, 2001; and,
  4. define the regulatory term “days” as “calendar days” for the purposes of this policy.

En résumé

Le présent mémorandum a été mis à jour pour :

  1. inclure une mention de la déclaration en détail commerciale;
  2. confirmer que l’Agence des services frontaliers du Canada (ASFC) enverra le formulaire E44, Avis des Douanes – Marchandises non réclamées seulement après l’expiration de la période de prorogation;
  3. inclure les produits de vapotage comme produits réglementés aux termes de la Loi de 2001 sur l’accise;
  4. définir le terme réglementaire « jours » comme « jours civils » pour l’application de la présente politique.
