Message from Montreal Long Room – IMPORTANT

CBSA in Montreal have asked that we post the following important message.

Please inform your members that they need to have the transaction number on the manifest when they send their inquiries. By not having that number, we need to have agents manually add it for everyone and in return it slows down the return rate.

Currently CBSA is receiving a high volume of requests. Currently, the processing of email requests is taking no longer than 8 hours.

Please do not send duplicate requests, as it slows down the process. The same goes for thank you messages. Although appreciated, it also slows down the processing time.

If you haven't received a response within 24 hours, call the long room at 514-350-6142 and speak to an agent. Note that they will not process your request any faster as they are treated in the order received.

With regards to urgent shipments such as perishable goods, or critical goods such as pharmaceuticals, please email and then call 514-350-6142, and speak to an agent to explain the situation. The agent will make a decision concerning its priority, and take the appropriate measures to accelerate the processing of the file.

We thank you for your cooperation, and understanding during this period of technical difficulties.
