Minister Fletcher listens to trucking industry perspectives

The following is excerpted from a 12 March 2013 news release by Transport Canada.

The Honourable Steven Fletcher, Minister of State (Transport), today addressed trucking industry partners to reiterate the critical role they play in Canada's transportation system and the Canadian economy, during the Annual Meeting of the Manitoba Trucking Association. Approximately 75 participants from various trucking companies and organizations were in attendance.

"Our government is working to ensure that our transportation system is efficient and that the country remains competitive through long-term policies, such as our Gateway and Trade Corridor initiatives, the development of a new long-term infrastructure plan and the Canada-U.S. Beyond the Border Action Plan," said Minister Fletcher.
