Minister Ng launches public consultations on trade negotiations with Ecuador

Canada is committed to diversifying its trade and investment ties and promoting open, inclusive, and rules-based international trade. In line with this commitment, the Honourable Mary Ng, Minister of International Trade, Export Promotion, Small Business and Economic Development, today announced the launch of public consultations on a potential free trade agreement between Canada and Ecuador.

These consultations will help identify business opportunities and market access for Canadian goods and services in Ecuador as well as prospects to improve regulatory predictability and transparency for Canadian businesses operating in that country. Canadians and interested stakeholders can join the discussion on possible Free Trade Agreement negotiations with Ecuador until February 21st 2023.

Submissions received from these consultations will help define Canada’s priorities in potential trade negotiations with Ecuador.
