The Canadian Food Inspection Agency’s (CFIA) Automated Import Reference System (AIRS) will be updated on Monday April 1st 2019. The update is to add additional import controls for African Swine Fever (ASF).
A new document, Order Imposing Conditions in Relation to Secondary Control Zones In Respect of African Swine Fever, is now available on the CFIA website. This document describes the new import requirements for select plant-based feed ingredients originating from countries of concern with respect to ASF.
Supporting documentation regarding ASF will also be available on Monday on the CFIA website.
