New inspection reports for table stock potatoes from PEI destined to the US / Nouveau rapport d’inspection pour les pommes de terre de table de l’Î.-P.-E. à destination des É.-U.

Starting in March 2024, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) will use the Digital Service Delivery Platform (DSDP) to create Inspection Reports for the commodity inspection of table stock potatoes originating in Prince Edward Island (PEI). Currently, CFIA inspectors in PEI use the Certificate of Origin (COO) for potatoes, which is used to certify shipments of potatoes being shipped from PEI to another province that may in turn be exported to the United States (U.S.).

The DSDP Inspection Report will document that the commodity meets the specific phytosanitary requirements for the U.S., to support the issuance of the export documentation for exporters outside of PEI who are shipping PEI-origin potatoes to the U.S. The new Inspection Report will demonstrate that the potatoes have been inspected and found free from soil and potato wart symptoms, and that they meet the field/seed source requirements as per the USDA Federal Order (DA-2022-14).

Nouveau rapport d’inspection pour les pommes de terre de table de l’Î.-P.-E. à destination des É.-U.

À compter de mars 2024, l’Agence canadienne d’inspection des aliments (ACIA) utilisera la plateforme de prestation numérique de services (PPNS) pour créer des rapports d’inspection pour l’inspection de pommes de terre pour consommation originaires de l’Île-du-Prince-Édouard (Î.-P.-É.). Actuellement, les inspecteurs de l’ACIA utilisent le certificat d’origine (CO) pour certifier les envois de pommes de terre expédies de l’ Î.-P.-É. vers une autre province qui peuvent ensuite exporter vers les États-Unis.

Le rapport d’inspection de la PPNS documentera que le produit répond aux exigences phytosanitaires spécifiques des États-Unis, afin de soutenir l’émission des documents d’exportation pour les exportateurs à l’extérieur de l’ Î.-P.-É. qui expédient des pommes de terre originaires de l’ Î.-P.-É. vers les États-Unis. Le nouveau rapport d’inspection démontrera que les pommes de terre ont été inspectés et trouvés exempts de symptômes de la galle verruqueuse et de sol et qu’ils répondent aux exigences de la source du champs et de la semence conformément à l'ordonnance fédérale américaine (DA-2022-14).
