Notice of intent - Emergency Transit of Regulated Animals

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has posted a notice of its intent to propose regulatory changes to the Health of Animals Regulations to allow for the emergency transit of regulated animals. These amendments would improve the welfare of livestock and other regulated animals in emergencies like floods and forest fires by streamlining import permits and export certification requirements, without increasing the risk to Canada.

More information is available in the notice of intent.
