Organic Certificates – CFIA

Further to a message sent to Members on September 10, CFIA has now advised the following:

…. AIRS will be updated for organic fresh fruits and vegetables to only require an indication of confirmation (i.e. a declaration of “yes”) in the Integrated Import Declaration (IID) that the importer is in possession of the organic certificate. However, the certificate number and an uploaded copy of the certificate will not be required as part of the declaration until further notice.

CFIA has further confirmed that the requirement for the “yes” declaration will not be in place for October 1st. The date for when a declaration will be required is October 5th.
