Paperless Certification System for Meat imported to Canada from New Zealand and Australia

Canada, New Zealand and Australia have agreed to introduce a paperless system for the certification of meat products imported to Canada. As such, effective January 1, 2014 New Zealand and Australia will stop printing the paper form of the Official Meat Inspection Certificates (OMIC). As of January 1, 2014, the importer will not be required to present a copy of the original OMIC  to the National Import Service Centre (NISC).
