PM announces support for enhanced security cooperation with Malaysia

Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced [on October 6, 2013] that Canada and Malaysia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will enhance security cooperation between the two countries and help address the threats of terrorism, human smuggling and organized crime in Southeast Asia and beyond. He also announced Canadian support for four projects that will strengthen front line institutional capacity in Malaysia...

The MOU, which takes effect immediately, lays the foundation for Canada and Malaysia to reinforce and expand their cooperation on countering international crime and terrorism...
