Reminder - New Web Address for CFIA AIRS Validation Service (AVS)

Effective July 2, 2013, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency’s AIRS Validation Service (AVS) will have new web addresses. The website has been modified to enhance performance of the service. CFIA’s proactive approach in providing AVS with a static web address will ensure that future changes to the server hardware can be implemented without any effect on AVS clients.

The service Web Service Description Language (WSDL) description can be obtained by accessing the URL:
http://avs-svs.inspection.gc.ca/avs/bvs.svc?wsdl

The schemas which define the XML format used for requests and response are available at:
Validation request schema: http://avs-svs.inspection.gc.ca/avs/schema/vr_in_1.0.xsd
Validation response schema: http://avs-svs.inspection.gc.ca/avs/schema/vr_out_1.0.xsd

The transition period for clients to migrate to the new website will begin on June 17, 2013 and go to July 2, 2013 at which point all AVS requests must be directed to the new URL.
Clients will experience NO CHANGE during this period, other than having to change over to the new web address.

The AVS Technical Specifications Manual has been updated to reflect the modifications. To receive an updated copy, and for any other AVS related questions, please contact:
