Single Window Initiative (SWI) - Temporary Importation of Vehicles and Health Canada

This notice is a reminder to trade chain partners (TCPs) (i.e. importers and brokers) that the Canada Border Services Agency’s (CBSA’s) policy pertaining to the temporary importation of vehicles under Transport Canada’s Vehicles program is that these entries cannot be supported via the Single Window Initiative (SWI) Integrated Import Declaration (IID), service option 911.

Furthermore, TCPs are also reminded that for importations of goods regulated by Health Canada, all required data for Health Canada entries MUST be submitted, particularly the Intended End Use Code (IUC) and Canadian Product Category Code (CPC).

Please take note that the CBSA will begin to issue Administrative Monetary Penalties (AMPs) for those transactions which are not in accordance with the policies outlined above.
