Softwood Lumber U.S. Trade Remedy Proceedings – Administrative Review process

Following is a message from the Softwood Lumber Division of Global Affairs Canada:

Further to our teleconference call with industry that took place on November 29, 2018, we would like to remind you that the U.S. Department of Commerce’s first administrative review in the current softwood lumber proceedings will begin in January 2019. Companies will have until the end of January 2019 to formally request participation in this process. If you choose to submit such a request, we suggest you start by registering early for an e-filer account on the Department of Commerce ACCESS website in December, as it can take some time for the U.S. to process your request.

For more information, please see Global Affairs Canada’s dedicated softwood lumber Frequently Asked Questions webpage (http://www.international.gc.ca/controls-controles/softwood-bois_oeuvre/other-autres/faq.aspx?lang=eng) which contains information specifically on the administrative review process. This page is regularly updated.

To customs brokers representing softwood lumber companies, we would be grateful for onward transmission of this notice to your clients.

Please feel free to reach out to us directly by e-mail with any questions or comments at [email protected].
