Statement of reasons—expiry review determination: Stainless steel sinks

Concerning an expiry review determination under paragraph 76.03(7)(a) of the Special Import Measures Act respecting certain stainless steel sinks originating in or exported from the People's Republic of China.

Decision

On April 27, 2023 pursuant to paragraph 76.03(7)(a) of the Special Import Measures Act, the Canada Border Services Agency determined that the rescission of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal’s order made on February 8, 2018, in Expiry Review No. RR-2017-001:

  • is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping of the goods from China; and
  • is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of subsidizing of the goods from China

D’une décision rendue dans le réexamen relatif à l’expiration en vertu de l’alinéa 76.03(7)a) de la Loi sur les mesures spéciales d’importation concernant certains éviers en acier inoxydable originaires ou exportés de la République Populaire de Chine.

Décision

Le 27 avril 2023, conformément à l’alinéa 76.03(7)a) de la Loi sur les mesures spéciales d’importation, l’Agence des services frontaliers du Canada a décidé que l’annulation de l’ordonnance rendue par le Tribunal canadien du commerce extérieur le 8 février 2018 à l’issue du réexamen relatif à l’expiration RR-2017-001 causerait vraisemblablement :

  • la poursuite ou la reprise du dumping des marchandises en provenance de la Chine; et
  • la poursuite ou la reprise du subventionnement des marchandises en provenance de la Chine.
