The following is excerpted from an 8 November 2012 news release by Canada Border Services Agency.
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) today announced that NEXUS members can now enjoy crossing simply and smoothly into Canada at an additional NEXUS lane at the Douglas border crossing located at Surrey, British Columbia and Blaine, Washington. The existing NEXUS lanes are open from 7 a.m. until midnight, seven days a week, for entry into Canada. The new lane will be used to process NEXUS members during high-volume periods and as a regular lane at other times.
In addition, a new NEXUS crossing at the Abbotsford-Huntingdon, British Columbia and Sumas, Washington port of entry is fully operational with NEXUS technology as of November 8, 2012, and will open from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m., seven days a week for entry into Canada. This lane has been operational since July 2012 for manual card verification.
