URGENT: CFIA-AIRS Updates November 22nd 2019

**This urgent AIRS update is to reflect new restrictions on romaine lettuce originating from the state of California

Chapter 07 was published to: 

i) change the release recommendation from “Approved” to “Refer to CFIA - NISC” for the following HS codes with end uses “Human Consumption” and “Further Processing” originating from the state of California.

07.05.19.3028.10 - Romaine Lettuce.
07.05.19.3028.11 - Romaine lettuce - Organic

This created a requirement version change for the following HS codes.

07.05.19.3025 - Asian lettuce (fresh or chilled).
07.05.19.3028 - Other: Romaine lettuce, red leaf lettuce, green leaf lettuce, butter lettuce or baby leaf lettuce (fresh or chilled).
07.05.21.0001 - Chicory: Witloof (Cichorium intybus var. foliosum). (Cichorium intybus var. foliosum)
07.05.21.0002 - Chicory: Witloof (Cichorium intybus var. foliosum) - Organic. (Cichorium intybus var. foliosum)
07.06.10.3018 - Baby carrots (fresh or chilled). (Daucus carota)
07.06.10.3019 - Turnips (fresh or chilled). (Brassica rapa)
07.06.90.3021 - Horseradish (fresh or chilled). (Armoracia lapathifolia)
07.06.90.3025 - Other edible roots (fresh or chilled). 
07.06.90.3026 - Celery root, celeriac (fresh or chilled). (Apium spp.)
07.09.70.3030 - Spinach - New Zealand and orache spinach (fresh or chilled). (Spinachia oleracea)
07.09.99.4034 - Herbs - with or without roots (fresh or chilled)  - Organic.
07.09.99.4039 - Jicama (fresh or chilled) - Organic.
07.14.10.3044 - Manioc (cassava) (fresh or chilled). (Manihot spp.)
07.14.10.3046 - Manioc - (cassava) (fresh or chilled) - Organic. (Manihot spp.)
07.14.20.3043 - Sweet potato (fresh or chilled). (Ipomoea spp.)
07.14.20.3044 - Sweet potato - (fresh or chilled) - Organic. (Ipomoea spp.)
07.14.30.0001 - Yam (tuber) (fresh or chilled).
07.14.30.0011 - Yam - (tuber) (fresh or chilled) - Organic.
07.14.40.0001 - Taro (root) - fresh or chilled
07.14.40.0011 - Taro (root) - fresh or chilled - Organic.
07.14.50.0001 - Yautia (Xanthosoma spp.).
07.14.50.0002 - Yautias (Xanthosoma spp.) - Organic.
07.14.90.0006 - Tubers, tuberous roots, corms, crowns and rhizomes - with high starch or inulin content.

ii) remove a registration type for the following HS code with the end uses "Further processing", "Human consumption" and "Repacking" and with the miscellaneous codes " With soil / container weighing more than 50 kg" and " Without soil / container weighing more than 50 kg" originating from the United States.

07.06.90.3024 - Radish, Lo Bok, Daikon (fresh or chilled). (Raphanus spp.).

This created a requirement version change for the following HS codes originating from the United States.

07.06.10.3017 - Carrots (fresh or chilled). (Daucus carota).
07.06.90.3020 - Beet (fresh or chilled). (Beta spp.).
07.06.90.3023 - Parsnip (fresh or chilled). (Pastinaca spp.).

B) Chapter 20 was published to change the release recommendation from “Approved” to “Refer to CFIA - NISC” for the following HS code with end use “Human Consumption” originating from the United States.

20.05.99.7271 - Other Salads
