U.S. border guards on Canadian soil?

The following is excerpted from the 19 October 2012 Niagara Falls Review.

Will armed U.S. border guards be on Canadian soil in Fort Erie pre-inspecting commercial vehicles before they go across the Peace Bridge into the United States?

While some of those details have not yet been determined, that’s one of the options being considered in a preliminary agreement that has been worked out between Canada and the United States to speed up traffic across the Peace Bridge.
