U.S. Duty on Aluminum and Steel

The U.S. has announced that additional duty will be assessed with respect to steel and aluminum articles, as specified in the Presidential Proclamations, entered into the U.S., or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, on or after 12:01 a.m. eastern daylight time on March 23, 2018.

Additional duties are based on the country of origin, not the country of export. All countries of origin, EXCEPT the following, are affected: Canada, Mexico, Australia, Argentina, South Korea, Brazil and member countries of the European Union (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

However, as of May 1, 2018, additional duty will apply to goods from any country of origin.
