Lamy cautions against weakening the WTO

Director-General Pascal Lamy, in a speech to the Annual Session of the Parliamentary Conference on the WTO at the WTO headquarters on 22 March 2011, said: “In the current turbulent times, the WTO must act as a catalyst of trust and global unity through the conclusion of the Doha Round. It must make a contribution to a more stable world. A WTO in crisis is not what is expected of responsible members of the international community.

Seaway traffic to rise 7% in 2011

The following is from the 22 March 2011 edition of "cbc.ca". The volume of shipments through the St. Lawrence Seaway will increase by about seven per cent this year compared with 2010, the system's Canadian operator predicted Tuesday.
