SWI Implementation Working Group

The SWI Implementation Working Group participated in a webinar on October 11 and the presentation from the webinar is now available.

Issues not included in the presentation:

1. More than one VIN cannot be included on a single IID. CBSA confirmed that this is not something that can be fixed by CBSA or Transport Canada; rather, the issues lies with other parties who require or hold this information. This does not affect those importing under Appendix F (VINs are not required) or Appendix G. With a single VIN allowed on a single IID, multiple vehicles on a single manifest means the cargo needs to be re-manifested, an issue for carriers. CBSA will continue to look into this issue.

2. RIV and Transport Canada websites do not show up-to-date information regarding use of the IID.
