EDI Release Requests Received, June 2011 - correction

A correction to the EDI Release Report for June 2011 has been made. The previously sent attachment misaligned some of the original excel document’s headings. The following document contains the appropriately aligned data with the appropriate headings.

C-Type Entries

With the elimination of generic carrier code 77YY, members have seen a tremendous increase in the number of C-type entries. And, as a result, we have had several members report an increase in the number of late accounting penalties due to C-type entries either being keyed incorrectly, late, or not at all.

The following is excerpted from a 15 July 2011 release by Statistics Canada. Manufacturing sales declined 0.8% (-$360 million) to $46.0 billion in May. Sales have remained relatively flat since January 2011.

Warehouse Sublocation Codes

The CSCB has advised CBSA of an issue with some paper RMDs, particularly for ocean shipments. In some cases, the sublocation code is not included in the RNS message, and, since the warehouse receiving the RNS message needs the sublocation code, the broker must present a hard-copy copy of the release to the warehouse. How can we ensure that the sublocation code is included in the RNS message?
