25% US Tariff on Most Canadian Goods to Begin Tuesday February 4, 2025

According to a senior Canadian official, US President Trump has followed through with his promise to impose a 25% tariff on Canadian goods entering the US, including a 10% tariff on Canadian energy products. These tariffs are said to go into effect Tuesday February 4, 2025, for an undetermined length of time.

Prime Minister Trudeau is expected to provide a response tonight at 6pm ET, likely announcing Canada's retaliatory tariffs on goods imported from the US.
