The Canadian Society of Customs Brokers (CSCB) Award of Excellence celebrates individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to advancing the goals of our Society over an extended period, typically through sustained leadership, advocacy efforts, and cumulative contributions. Here's what you need to know to nominate someone.

Who Can Be Nominated?
  • Active CSCB members (including owners and employees)
  • Recently retired employees (within two years of retirement)
What to Include in Your Nomination?
  • Nominee's name and role within their CSCB member organization
  • Details about the nominee's involvement with CSCB
  • A 250-500 word narrative explaining why you're nominating this person.
Selection Criteria

The CSCB Award of Excellence recognizes individuals who have made substantial, long-term contributions to the organization. While not exhaustive, the following list outlines key activities and efforts that may warrant a nomination:

  • Extended Board Service: Completion of 10 or more years on the CSCB Board of Directors.
  • Sustained Advocacy Leadership: Representing CSCB in a leadership capacity during governmental advocacy efforts for a minimum of 3 years (e.g., co-chairing a Border Commercial Consultative Committee sub-committee).
  • High-Profile Representation: Serving as CSCB's representative in significant public initiatives, such as spearheading a public awareness campaign or providing testimony before a governmental committee.
  • Cumulative Contributions: A combination of activities spanning 10 or more years that demonstrate consistent commitment to advancing the Society's objectives.

The Board retains discretion to consider additional contributions not explicitly listed here when assessing nominations for the Award of Excellence.

When to Submit

Nominations are accepted year-round. The Board reviews all nominations in June for awards to be presented at the National Conference in the fall.

Selection Process
  • The Board can select up to three recipients each year
  • Recipients are announced and honoured at the CSCB National Conference
