Amended certificate for the export of pet food to Thailand

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has renegotiated the certificate for the export of pet food to Thailand (HA2791). 

Thailand now accepts Canada’s zoning approach in the event of outbreaks for the following diseases:

  • Rinderpest
  • Foot and mouth disease
  • Bovine pleuropneumoniae
  • Hog cholera
  • African swine fever
  • Swine vesicular disease
  • Classical swine fever

Pet food of avian origin is now also permitted, provided that the ingredients are not derived from birds infected with velogenic Newcastle disease or highly pathogenic avian influenza. 

Ingredients of ruminant origin may now be used in the manufacturing of finished products to be exported to Thailand.

The certificate is, or will soon be, available through your local CFIA office. The new version may be used effective immediately.

The Guideline for preparing export certificates for the Canadian pet food industry will be updated shortly to reflect this change.

Certificat amendé pour l’exportation de nourriture pour animaux de compagnie en Thaïlande

L’Agence canadienne d’inspection des aliments (ACIA) a renégocié le certificat pour l’exportation de nourriture pour animaux de compagnie vers la Thaïlande (HA2791). 

La Thaïlande accepte désormais le zonage mis en place par le Canada en cas d’épidémie pour les maladies suivantes :

  • Peste bovine
  • Fièvre aphteuse
  • Péripneumonie contagieuse bovine
  • Peste porcine classique
  • Peste porcine africaine
  • Maladie vésiculeuse du porc
  • Choléra porcin

La nourriture pour animaux de compagnie faite à partir d’ingrédients aviaires est également acceptée, pourvu que ceux-ci ne proviennent pas d’oiseaux infectés par la maladie de Newcastle vélogénique ou par l’influenza aviaire hautement pathogène. 

Les ingrédients provenant de ruminants peuvent désormais être utilisés dans la fabrication de produits finis destinés à l’exportation vers la Thaïlande.

Le certificat est ou sera bientôt disponible auprès de votre bureau local de l’ACIA. La nouvelle version peut être utilisée dès maintenant. 

Les Lignes directrices pour la préparation de certificats d'exportation par l'industrie Canadienne des aliments pour animaux de compagnie seront mises à jour prochainement afin de refléter ce changement.
